having a relationship in the 21st centuty isn’t all that different from having one in any other century i suppose. but i found that if the relationship is between two geeks who define almost every moment with music, the 21st century has a way of making things much more interesting when it comes to looking back on the past.

i was going through and doing a little cleanup on my itunes at work and while i was combing through my mp3s i saw a number of songs that i had downloaded on certain days and then emailed off to my boy ryan.  looking at them i realized i could see how our relationship progressed, literally day by day.  and then i realized that since we both emailed music back and forth to each other for weeks at the beginning of our relationship via gmail, i could go in to gmail and basically see thought for thought, day by day, how things have progressed.  and then, i realized, i could literally read tons of conversations we’d had via ichat.  it’s bizarre.  even graphical representations of our relationship are here.  pictures we send, a doodle i made, images of places we want to go, music from important moments in our past, commercials we love, tweets going back to the day we first noticed each other on twinkle.  it’s all here, and most of it is probably here forever.

it’s nice to know.
